DVD to iPod:
The Latest and Greatest

iPod…iPod…iPod!  That is definitely the buzz word in technology today.

 Putting your stories on an iPod using Pinnacle software was even featured on the Martha Stewart show! Go to www.marthastewart.com and enter "Pinnacle" in the search area to bring up the article and the video from that show.

The Video iPod was introduced in October by Apple Computing.  It is compatible with either a PC or Mac computer.  The VideoiPod, unlike the iPod Nano or  standard iPod, comes with either a 30 or 60 Gig hard drive. 

Imagine being able to carry your Family History stories in your shirt pocket!  This new iPod has a 2 ½” screen so you can upload the stories you created using Family History DVD instructional book and watch them anywhere you wish or show them to family and friends!  Tiny speakers are available for those who don’t like ear plugs.   You can also connect your iPod to either a computer or a TV when you desire a larger screen.

To make the process even simpler, Diversified Multimedia developed Video Vault software to easily download video from a PC to the iPod.  It is available on the company’s web site www.divmm.com for under $40 as well as at some computer stores such as Microcenter.  Using this software, we now have our entire Family History DVD Presentation on an iPod and there’s room for much more!  There are other similar software programs available which we have not tested.

So, if you are into the latest and greatest in high tech gadgets…or if your kids or grandkids are… you may want to check out the Video iPod by Apple.
