ABOUT THE BOOK

Your family history consists of many stories. They can be organized chronologically, or by categories such as ancestors, childhood, marriage, children, grandchildren, career, hobbies, sports, travel, adventures, friends, special events, and retirement. However you choose to organize your family history, the stories are more interesting if they consist of photos, documents, newspaper articles, movies, videos, and any other graphics or objects, plus added narration, background music, transitions, and sound effects. It is your choice-you can add as much or as little as you choose.

Your first reaction probably is, "but I can't do that." You don't have to-the computer does it for you. Your next reaction might be, "but I don't know how to use a computer." Don't worry, this manual was written for people who have little or no experience with a computer. It is a simple, step-by-step procedure that almost anyone can follow to produce amazing stories.

I learned to produce these stories of our family history by digging through books and manuals full of technical information that I didn't need to know. This book contains only the information and instructions you need, to produce results that you never thought possible. Once you learn to do this and you want to become more professional, you can begin using the more technical manuals.
